The seasons are getting ready to make a big change around here, and it worked in our favor as we got crafty with the Letter I. To keep in tune with the fall theme, my preschooler made an alphabet craft for the letter I-- I is for Indian Corn.
Letter I Craft
Supplies:
- Pre-cut letter I
- red, orange, brown, and yellow paint
- pom poms
- clothespins
- green and brown construction paper
I is for Indian Corn Letter Craft
To prep the activity, cut out the letter I from a piece of white construction paper.
Provide your toddler or preschooler with a plate of red, orange, brown, and yellow paint.
Pinch pom poms in each clothespin and you are ready to make Pom Pom Indian Corn using paint!
** There are many ways to adapt this craft. Alternatively, other options to create the colorful kernels are: painted fingerprints, Do a Dot markers, buttons, and/or dot stickers.
Encourage your preschooler to dot paint all over the letter I.
Once it is dried, glue two green leaves behind the letter I and then glue the Indian corn I onto a brown piece of paper.
Encourage your preschooler to dot paint all over the letter I.
Creating an letter craft is a fun addition to a Letter of the Week curriculum. More themes to explore for the letter I are: insects, ice cream, icesicle, inch, igloo, etc!
